The Positive Power of a Personal Touch

Take a moment to recall how you became part of our JourneyCare community.

Maybe you heard of us at a community education event on advance care planning. Or you learned about JourneyCare through a friend or neighbor who was touched by our amazing team of employees and volunteers. Or maybe you simply stumbled upon this blog and became inspired to engage.

However you joined our JourneyCare community, it was likely thanks to word-of-mouth and personal experience. As a friend of JourneyCare today, you have a personal understanding of the exceptional care and support we provide for patients and families dealing with serious illness and end-of-life issues.

But others who need this care may not know where to turn or whom to contact for help. That’s why your voice is so important – especially this November, during National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. A voice that can connect and provide a personal touch that encourages people to reach out for help.

This year’s national theme for Hospice and Palliative Care month is “Know Your Options.” As part of our JourneyCare family, you understand the many options we offer to help community members who need our care at a most difficult time in their lives. With our core hospice and palliative care, a wide range of integrative therapies, pediatric services, special programs for our veteran and Jewish communities, a comprehensive bereavement program and much more, we are truly with our patients and families every step of the way. You know that our care and support is focused on what matters most in the quality of life for each patient.

You are a vital link to making sure that friends, family and neighbors connect with JourneyCare when they need us. JourneyCare now serves nearly 400 communities across the 10 counties in the Chicago area and northern Illinois. It is our JourneyCare family that knits these communities together through the care and support we provide.

Please, provide that personal touch; tell those who may need our help that they do not need to face serious illness alone. Encourage them to call our dedicated team on the Referrals line at 224-770-2489 or visit www.journeycare.org to learn more about our services and even request care.

Thank you for being an important face and voice of JourneyCare! Spread the word that we are here to help our communities during National Hospice and Palliative Care Month – and all year round.
